Sources, dates & roster coverage
This directory combines the publicly listed current rosters from Wikipedia and roster.watch, adds every fighter in UFC’s published divisional media rankings, and removes the recent departures explicitly listed in the roster source. It includes new signings awaiting a debut. It is a dated public-roster snapshot, not access to UFC’s private contracts. Inactive contract holders and very recent changes may be missing or delayed. UFC’s athlete archive is used only to match identity, portraits and listed records, not as evidence of an active contract.
Top 15 numbers follow UFC’s media rankings, including ties. CageDogs Next 15 positions use a separate provisional Elo model. CageDog Prospects includes everyone outside those two lists. Roster membership and weight classes can change before public lists update.
Style and gym follow UFC biography fields when available. “From” is the listed birthplace, not a verified current camp. Missing fields are left out.
Portraits are matched to UFC athlete records. 2 listed fighters do not yet have a matched portrait. Missing or blocked images show a labeled placeholder.
UFC official rankings (media rankings) ↗
How CageDogs Next 15 works · Elo Beta
We rank eligible roster members by CageDogs UFC-result Elo. Champions and official top-15 fighters are excluded separately in each division. No editorial override changes the order. These are independent positions #16–30, not official UFC rankings or win probabilities.
Every identity starts at 1500. Expected score = 1 / (1 + 10^((opponent Elo − fighter Elo) / 400)). New Elo = old Elo + 32 × (result − expected score). Wins count 1, draws 0.5, losses 0. No contests, DWCS, regional results and future bouts are excluded. There are no finish, title or popularity bonuses. Same-day fights use start-of-day ratings. Exact rating ties use stable fighter ID.
Eligibility requires at least three included UFC results, an included result within 730 days of the snapshot, and no unresolved identity, outcome or latest-result gap. Short divisions stay short. CageDog Prospects includes other listed fighters, including those without enough evidence. It is not an unsigned-prospect ranking.
Opponent quality is the mean of the opponents’ Elo immediately before the fighter’s last five included bouts, or fewer when fewer exist. It is descriptive and is not added to Elo a second time. The opponent-history percentage shows how often opponents already had a result in this dataset.
Striking differential is significant strikes landed minus absorbed per minute. Accuracy is landed / attempted. Defense and per-15-minute rates are source-listed career aggregates. These are context, not a weighted score or opponent-adjusted advanced model. Missing and inconsistent fields are omitted, never scored as zero. In particular, takedown accuracy and rate are withheld when landed/attempted totals do not reconcile. Career metric dates can be older than the result update.
Coverage: 707 official athlete-page captures, 3,808 deduplicated UFC bouts, 2007-05-26 through 2026-10-17. 2 conflicting or ambiguous records were excluded. This is a partial historical universe built around the current roster, not every UFC fight ever held. Missing retired-opponent history and incomplete biographies affect Elo. Historical opponents without a uniquely matched roster identity use exact normalized names, with no fuzzy matching.
A fighter has one captured UFC-career Elo across divisions, then is filtered into the current roster divisions. Historical bout divisions are not consistently available, so this is not a weight-class-only Elo. Current division labels and contract status still depend on dated public roster evidence. All model confidence is provisional. Editorial opinions remain separate. Historical replay checks do not establish predictive or betting advantage.
Result snapshot: 2026-10-22T02:42:29.706Z · Model ufc-biography-elo-v1. This is a fixed snapshot, not a live feed. Open a fighter’s rating evidence for the counted bouts and pre-fight opponent ratings.
